For many people, the useful basics are remarkably unglamorous: regular walking or equivalent movement, strength work, mostly nourishing food, enough sleep, no smoking, preventive care and people to share life with.
Four rules
- Add before subtractingAdd vegetables, protein, steps, strength and sleep-supporting routines before building a life around restriction.

- Have a minimum versionOn a difficult day, five minutes may keep the identity and rhythm alive.
- Review without punishmentAsk what made the habit easier or harder. Change the system, not your worth.
